The R2D2-32 is the compact water softener for households of 1-3 people with average water use.
- Fits in a utility room, stair cupboard, basement or technical room: the footprint is only 22 x 46 cm.
- The R2D2 series suits a free space with room for a large salt supply.
- Installing in a meter cupboard? Then the FLEX series is the better fit.
The R2D2-32 softens water by ion exchange: calcium and magnesium ions (limescale) are taken out of the water and replaced by sodium ions.
- Control valve BNT-1650: controls the process fully automatically, on time and volume.
- Pressure vessel with 8 litres of resin: removes the limescale.
- Salt tank: holds the salt for regeneration.
A built-in water meter measures your use. When the resin is full, the softener regenerates with a salt solution, usually at night. The integrated bypass keeps water available while it does, and a reserve capacity keeps soft water flowing in the meantime.
The R2D2-32 is connected to the main water line, behind the water meter and before the points of use. You need:
- a 3/4" connection on the main water line;
- a drain for the regeneration water;
- a power socket.
After connecting, set the hardness of your tap water on the control valve. The softener then works out its capacity itself. Prefer not to do it yourself? AQMOS can install it for you.
- Refill the salt: one fill usually lasts 3-5 months, depending on water hardness and use.
- Clean the resin with resin cleaner, to keep it working well.
A safety float in the salt tank protects against overflowing.

Yes. Softened water contains a little more sodium. If you follow a low-sodium diet, ask your doctor, or keep one tap on unsoftened water for drinking.
